THE situation was clear, Hitchin needed to win and their rivals, Sudbury had to lose against Leamington. In the end they battled to a goalless draw with just nine men.
The Glassboys had a better start to the game, but their build-up play caused no trouble to Hitchin goalkeeper Charlie Horlock in his last game for the club.
Play was delayed when Hitchin’s Shane Bush went off and then his replacement Joel Anker also succumbed, being replaced by Isaac Galliford.
