TEN-man Basingstoke slumped to defeat to Frome in a result that boosted the visitors’ survival hopes but dragged the hosts into the thick of the relegation scrap.
It was a scrappy game low on quality that can be typical of late-season relegation ‘six-pointers’, with James Ollis nicking the only goal in the first half and Frome defending their lead comfortably through the second.
