MERSTHAM secured a much-needed win when a moment of quality by Calvin Epkiteta overcame high-fl ying Horsham.
The victory lifted the Moatsiders out of the bottom three while the Hornets lost more ground on table-toppers Worthing.
Horsham had the first real opening after 10 minutes when Greg Cundle was denied by Merstham keeper Matte Pierson’s outstretched leg.
But on 31 minutes, Merstham made the breakthough.
Monga beat his man and drilled in a low cross which Epkiteta controlled before making space and firing into the corner from 12 yards.
