NUMBER two Robbie Blake says bringing back experienced Craig Robson has given his Bognor Regis Town side “a massive lift”.
Robson, 29, enjoyed a two-year spell at Nyewood Lane earlier in his career before going on to play in the National League with Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge.
Now he’s back with the Isthmian Premier Rocks after completing his switch from south-coast neighbours Havant & Waterlooville.
His signing will be seen as another massive statement of intent by the Rocks following the arrival of Canadian left-back Gavin McCallum, 33 from National League South side Dartford last month.
“Craig has steel, grit and determination and is a fantastic signing for us,” said Blake, number two to Rocks boss and new National League chairman Jack Pearce.
“He has bags of quality and being able to sign a player with his ability and experience gives us a big lift.
“I think that it shows we are determined to have a successful season. The fact that we have him in our ranks brings us a great chance of succeeding.”
The Rocks, meanwhile, have announced they will host Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s League One Burton Albion in a pre-season friendly next Saturday.
