■ LANCING faced Sittingbourne who had inflicted a 4-0 defeat on the home side in the opening game of the season.
Lancing came close to turning the tables in a first half which saw them create at least three very good scoring opportunities.
The home side dominated and the visitors did little to trouble Lancing keeper Alieu Secka. Sittingbourne were more of a threat in the opening 15 minutes of the second half and only good goalkeeping and sound defending prevented them from taking the lead.
