■ BOTH teams started lacklustre on New Year’s Day with minimal chances for both within the first 40 minutes.
Heybridge looked the better of the two and broke the deadlock just before half-time when Dan Walker met a low cross across the box to tap in.
The second half was more eventful with Witham equalising five minutes into the second half through Ramiah Mills. They didn’t stop there and grabbed a second when Mills, with his second of the game, slammed home.
