■ IN WHAT was a tight and nervous affair, Hastings defeated Whitstable, courtesy of Kenny Progue’s strike with five minutes remaining.
The visitors will be delighted to have picked up all three points in the Isthmian South East, with the league title well and truly in sight as the season progresses, and their place at the top strengthens every week.
Whitstable, although perhaps proud to have given such a solid show of themselves against the leaders, will be disappointed to have lost out.
