LEWES fell to a surprise home defeat to Wingate, which left them hanging onto a play-off place on goal difference.
They recovered from two goals inside 20 minutes to be level at half-time. But Dylan Kearney’s 65th-minute goal gave Gate the points.
The visitors made the perfect start on 50 seconds when Tyrique Clarke’s shot was parried by Lewes keeper Lewis Carey and the ball fell kindly to Antonis Vasiliou to slot home.
On ten minutes, Carey redeemed himself by keeping out Kearney’s strike.
