■TO say this was a disappointing match is an understatement. Soporific sums the game up nicely.
Merstham’s only shot on target came after 23 minutes after some excellent onetouch approach play, very much out of keeping with the match as a whole.
Lindell Stewart was put through on goal and his shot was arrowing for the bottom corner before Marlow’s keeper got fingertips to it to deflect it past a post.
