HYTHE TOWN and Ashford United battled out a feisty draw. Ashford had marginally the best of the first half, but couldn’t break through the resolute Hythe defence.
However, they were to take the lead after 53 minutes when Gary Lockyer swivelled and planted a shot past Hythe keeper Steve Phillips.
This goal seemed to spark a response from the hosts and they were level within five minutes. A corner from the left found Jason Fregene who neatly headed the ball into the corner of the Ashford net giving away keeper Jacob Russell no chance. Hythe looke...
