BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT welcomed Hornchurch, the Isthmian League leaders, but despite the gulf in league positions, the game didn’t show a lot of difference.
Regent had the better of the early exchanges, Luke Woodward forced a save from the Urchins’ goalkeeper and Jesse Olukolu saw his effort deflected wide.
The Urchins delivered a sucker punch after 20 minutes, Sam Higgins struck ferociously into the bottom corner after his initial attempt was blocked and rebounded kindly.
