BRIGHTLINGSEA welcomed Hastings United to North Road in a first Essex meeting of the Cinque Ports. And it turned out to be a game of two halves.
Regent got off to a dream start when they were awarded a penalty after 26 minutes.
Suleyman Zuhdu flicked on to release Samuel Jeremiah who was wiped out by the visitors’ goalkeeper.
Zuhdu stepped up to dispatch from 12 yards.
A minute later, the R’s won possession through Zuhdu’s hard work. He then laid off to Dominic Locke who slotted home.
