A strong second half showing from Hornchurch over Brightlingsea Regent saw them leapfrog Bishop’s Stortford to regain top spot in the league.
The visitors had the first chance when Bradley Russell’s deflected effort drew the best of reactions from Urchins keeper Lamar Joseph-Johnson.
The R’s then took the lead when Russell’s long range strike was not gathered by Joseph-Johnson and Andy George was on hand to poke the ball over the line at the back post.
