■ LATE goals helped Leatherhead sink Thatcham, virtually ending the visitors’ slim hopes of a play-off place. After 78 uninspiring minutes, it was the home side’s Daniel Hector who proved their undoing, slotting home from the edge of the box into the bottom corner.
If that goal was decent, the second three minutes from time which settled matters was special, leading scorer Dave Tarpey firing a rocket into the roof of the net after the ball dropped to him from a corner.
