BEN ALLEN’s late penalty would’ve presented a scare, but play-off hopefuls Aveley stayed on pace with their rivals after a 2-1 away win over Haringey Borough.
They got off to an ideal start, after defender Harry Gibbs prodded home Jon Nzengo’s cross from six yards in the third minute.
Moments later, Haringey’s Bobson Bawling won the ball in the attacking third and broke free but rather than shoot, he opted to pass and his indecisiveness was not read by his teammates.
