■WITHAM gained all three points at the Simarco Stadium yesterday. Luke Ige scored from close range to put the hosts ahead after five minutes.
Patrick Ahern nearly added a second with a header from a corner, but Callum Chafer saved at the expense of another corner.
Witham’s pace in attack and assurance in midfield kept the visitors on the defensive. Ige scored again in the 28th minute with a header from a corner.
Heybridge were more positive after the break and they dominated in the early part of the second half.
