LITTLEHAMPTON Town claimed their first win in seven league games with a hard-fought victory over Merstham. In an entertaining encounter, the Marigolds took all three points to make survival chances more comfortable.
Player-manager George Gaskin pounced on a wayward ball to open the scoring after eight minutes.
Some 20 minutes later, a throw-in deep inside the Moatsiders half was picked up by midfielder Dave Herbert.
After a dazzling mazy run from the halfway line, he put the Marigolds 2-0 in front with a classy finish.
