■ IT took a number of kick starts for Chertsey Town to assert themselves over some spirited visitors in the form of Badshot Lea, a team that had championship thoughts taking the edge off the host side’s performance through most of the game.
But it was Town who ceded nine minutes after the start of the match when Kareem Akinnibi found himself able to knock the ball in from mere inches out after a goal-bound strike to the top corner from Anuar Ceesay was clawed down by keeper Nick Jupp.
