AN entertaining match was effectively decided by a red card for Merstham’s Olu Lawal for retaliation.
At that point, the game was poised at 1-1, with both looking dangerous going forward.
Deal took advantage of their numerical advantage when Billy Munday bundled home to give them a 2-1 lead at the interval. Earlier Munday had opened the scores after 17 minutes, but Merstham got back on terms five minutes later when Andy Somo scored.
