JAMES HAMMOND’S well-taken free-kick gave Lewes a narrow victory at Hartsdown Park, while Margate had a second-half penalty saved.
The hosts were the first to get the ball in the net, when a delightful attacking move was clinically finished by Astride Basselle. However, celebrations were quickly cut short by a waving offside flag.
Gate full-back Tom Wynter was then denied by a goal line clearance before Basselle rattled the post with a shot from distance.
