OWEN CASEY was Potters Bar’s matchwinner on a tense afternoon in Hertfordshire.
He struck for the Scholars nine minutes from the end of a nervy encounter which took some time to spring to life. An even first half produced little in the way of goalmouth action.
The highlights of the half came early on when Bradley Sach’s free-kick for the hosts rattled the post with Lewes keeper Lewis Carey stranded.
Marcus Elliott almost put the Rooks in front just before half-time but fluffed his shot when clean through on goal.
