WHITEHAWK claimed their fourth win in-arow with a sterling performance, as Lewes, missed a late spot-kick.
The Hawks looked like a side sprinting clear of the drop zone.
But Lewes are seven games winless, with play-off hopes fading.
It looked promising for the Rooks when Ben Pope’s 25-yard tenth-minute thunderbolt gave Hawks keeper Melvin Minter no chance.
Rooks custodian Lewis Carey saved Nathaniel Pinney’s 18th minute shot. But no sooner was the ball cleared than it was back in the Lewes box for Ky Marsh-Brown to draw Whitehawk level.
