CARSHALTON remain one point outside the play-off places thanks to a controversial second-half goal that was all that separated the teams in a turgid affair.
There was little dispute when the Robins were awarded a penalty in the 53rd minute when Jacob Mindy was brought down in the box.
However, the controversy followed after Mindy stepped up to take the spot-kick.
The kick itself was wellsaved by keeper Niko Tzanev in the Scholars’ goal, only for Michael Dixon to follow up and put away the rebound.
