TEN-MAN Worthing slipped to sixth after being held at home by Brightlingsea Regent.
The visitors took a sixth-minute lead when Joe Clarke nodded Josh Gould’s long throw into his own net.
In the 34th minute Brightlingsea goalkeeper James Bradbrook raced off his line to punch but inadvertently hit Alex Parsons in the head as the Worthing full-back leapt for the ball.
The referee immediately pointed to the spot and David Ajiboye drilled the penalty into the bottom corner.
