MERSTHAM’s play-off hopes were dealt a severe blow as Folkestone made the most of a below par performance by the Moatsiders.
Credit to the Kent side, who defended well and took their chances when they came. The first half was a scrappy affair, as neither side could create anything of note in the final third. The game exploded into life in the 28th minute when Kershaney Samuels ghosted in at the far post to put the home side in front. But the lead didn’t last long.
