TALK about being right on the button! Bungay Town have gone the extra mile to try and entice fans to their game on Non-League Day this coming Saturday – by offering them some free mushrooms!
You’ll be able to pay what you want to get into the Black Dogs’ Anglian Combination Division Two game against Martham and for your trouble, you’ll get a free punnet from Waveney Mushrooms!
It’s not the first time Bungay have been in the news having hosted a game in 2012 that included all 22 players as well as the referee, linesmen and reserves all sharing the same surname – Bungay!
Elsewhere this Saturday, Matlock Town are offering Football League season ticket holders reduced admission for their highly anticipated derby against Ilkeston in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier.
Adults in that category will be able to get into the Autoworld Arena for just £6 with concessions at just £4.
“It’s a day to celebrate and show how good Non-League football is,” said Matlock chairman Tom Wright.
“We have a great local game against Ilkeston, a good young side who have started exceptionally well this season, and we believe it’s a game people will enjoy.
“We want to attract a fresh audience if we can, hope they’re well entertained and will want to come down again, so we look forward to good weather and a good gate on Saturday.”
