Tom Baker moves into management with Trafford

FORMER midfielder Tom Baker has taken his first steps into management with recently relegated .

Baker, 30, beat a number of impressive candidates to replace Graham Heathcote who stood down at the end of the season.

The ex-Barnsley, , Gainsborough and FC Halifax player was forced to retire in February after 17 months out injured.

But he has now moved into management and will be hoping to guide Trafford straight back up to the NPL Premier.

Baker said: “Firstly I would like to say thank you to both the chairman and directors for giving me this opportunity. I’m proud to be the man selected to take the club forward and can’t wait to get started.

“My aim is to build a winning team and squad that represents my beliefs and that we can all be proud of.”
