STOURBRIDGE have paid tribute to former youth team player Ryan Passey after he was stabbed to death on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old, who was a member of the Glassboys’ 2010-11 treble-winning side which won the league title, MFYL League Cup and Worcestershire County Youth Cup, died following an incident at Chicago Rock Café in the town centre.
Kobe Murray, 19, has been charged in connection with the incident and has been remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday (9).
The Evo-Stik Premier Glassboys released a statement describing themselves as “shocked and saddened” by the news.
It read: “We have been shocked and greatly saddened to learn of the death of our former youth team player Ryan Passey in tragic circumstances.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time. RIP Ryan.”
Another of Passey’s former clubs, Team Dudley, have also paid tribute to Ryan, adding: “Everyone at Team Dudley is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Ryan Passey. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family at this time. RIP Ryan.”
