It’s a quiet, but important, night of action in the Evo-Stik leagues tonight – particularly in the Premier division where three of the top four sides are in action.
Altrincham, Warrington Town are Farsley Celtic all play this evening, with Adam Lakeland’s side facing the toughest test of the trio against eighth place Ashton United.
The league-leading Robins and the third place Yellows both have mid-table opposition in the form of Lancaster City and Buxton.
At present there is a three-way tie at the top of the division between Altrincham, Shaw Lane and Warrington – all on 34 points. Four points behind them sit Farsley Celtic, who can at least make up ground on Craig Elliott’s side tonight.
After this evening the Ducks will have two games in hand on their promotion rivals, but the importance of having points on the board won’t be lost of any of the top four.
Due to a postponement in the Kendal Town-Hyde United match, there is only one game in the Evo-Stik North tonight. The encounter pits 14th place Mossley against 17th place Radcliffe Borough in a less than thrilling proposition.
The Lilywhites have secured three of their four wins at Seel Park this season, and will hope to add to that total against Jon Macken’s side – who have won just once on the road this season.
In the Evo-Stik South this evening there’s an important fixture for fourth place Alvechurch, who can leapfrog Frickley Athletic into third with victory over Peterborough Sports.
The Church have made an impressive start to the campaign, losing just three times in their 12 league games this season. They’ve played fewer games than the teams around them in the table so will be eager to make the most of tonight’s opportunity.
The Turbines, meanwhile, are looking to lift themselves out of mid-table mediocrity – with Alvechurch providing the chance for an impressive scalp at Lincoln Road.
