Skelmersdale United have started a crowdfunding page after their future was plunged into uncertainty.
The Evo-Stik North side, who were formed in 1882, are celebrating their 135th anniversary this season but have been left with no home in the town.
Following a dispute with landlord Chequer Properties Limited, Skelmersdale club officials were allegedly locked out of their Uretek Stadium home.
As a result, the Blueboys begin a season-long groundshare at Prescot Cables‘ Volair Park on Saturday, and the club are looking for financial help to fund the additional expenses as the club do all they can to return to Skelmersdale.
You can donate to their crowdfunding page here, but even a few more people through the turnstile on Saturday, or the purchasing of a programme, lottery ticket or a half-time coffee, could go a long way to helping this historic club.
Skem pride themselves on being a community club, and said on their crowdfunding page: “We are doing our best to make sure that Skelmersdale United F.C. continues to be part of your community for many more years to come, so please offer whatever you can to help.”
