The regular season is complete but there are still some important scores to be settled in the play-offs. We’ve taken a look at what is to come this evening.
EVO-STIK League Premier
Ashton United v Farsley Celtic – 7.45pm KO
Just two points separated Ashton, in second, from tonight’s opponents Farsley, who finished three places below them. The play-off race has been on a knife edge all season and these fixtures look increasingly difficult to call. Ashton go into the clash in good form having won their last three while Farsley are on a four-game winning streak which has seen them score 15 goals in the process.
Warrington Town v Grantham Town – 7.45pm KO
Warrington haven’t won in their last three games and are perhaps feeling the effects of having to play nine matches in April. Grantham had the same busy run-in and these two drew 0-0 when they met last week, although Warrington won the first fixture.
EVO-STIK Premier play-off final – Saturday, May 5 – 3pm KO
EVO-STIK League North
Bamber Bridge v Tadcaster Albion – 7.45pm KO
Tadcaster Albion were fortunate that rivals Hyde United gained promotion through the best third-placed finish which meant they qualified for the play-offs in seventh position. Albion travel to Bamber Bridge, who finished 12 points above them, but Tadcaster beat tonight’s opposition 5-0 in March having lost the first fixture 3-1.
Prescot Cables v Trafford – 7.45pm KO
Prescot Cables have beaten Trafford three times this season, twice in the league and once in the FA Trophy preliminary round. Trafford finished their season with a fine 4-0 win over Kendal Town.
EVO-STIK North play-off final – Saturday, May 5 – 3pm KO
EVO-STIK League South
Frickley Athletic v Stamford – 7.45pm KO
Had it not been for a three-point deduction for fielding an ineligible player, Frickley would have finished in the automatic promotion places. As it is, they’ve had to settle for third spot and a place in the play-offs against a Stamford side which finished 11 points below them.
Bedworth United v Chasetown – 7.45pm KO
Bedworth finished just a point above Chasetown and both sides claimed wins over each other during the season. The visitors are unbeaten in six and ended on a 5-0 win over champions Basford last weekend.
EVO-STIK South play-off final – Saturday, May 5 – 3pm KO
Bostik League South
Cray Wanderers v Walton Casuals – 7.45pm KO
Walton Casuals head to Cray Wanderers having beaten the hosts 5-2 just two weeks ago. They’ve won their last three games while Cray smashed Guernsey 4-0 on the final day of the season.
Greenwich Borough v Corinthian Casuals – 7.45pm KO
Both these sides finished on 87 points and the same amount of goals conceded, 47. Greenwich scored 13 more goals finishing their tally on 99.
Bostik League South play-off final – Saturday, May 5 – 3pm KO
