Northern Premier League side Witton Albion have moved to sign defender Josh Wardle from Skelmersdale United.
After joining the Blueboys in November of last year, Wardle went on to make 28 consecutive starts as Skelmersdale moved towards safety in the Northern Premier League Division One North.
The defender’s impressive performances in the Skelmersdale backline last season saw him pick up the Manager’s Player of the Year award.
Wardle, who began his career with Leicester City, has previously represented Kendal Town.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Skelmersdale boss Dave Powell said, “I am sorry to see Josh leave the club, he was a key member of our defence last season but rather than look at the negatives of a player departing, it gives an opportunity for other players to step up into the role. ”
