Street keep marching on!

After writing themselves into the club’s history books last season, Richard Fey’s side have adapted to life in Step Four like a duck to water.
The Glastonbury based club have been making serious noises in recent years under the stewardship of Fey, including pulling off an extraordinary 26 match winning run on their way to the Western Premier League title last season and the Cobblers have embarked on the current campaign with the wind still firmly in their sails.
A comfortable 4-1 victory over on Tuesday has set up a mouth-watering tie at next weekend, while impressive recent results over the likes of and have lifted Street into third position in the Central Division One table.
“We have all been taken a bit by surprise with how quickly the lads have settled into Step 4 ,” a delighted Fey told .
“If someone had told me over the summer that we would be in touching distance with the top of the table in November I wouldn’t have believed them.
“Last season was an absolute dream and we created memories that would last a lifetime but we knew that this year was going to be far tougher.
“At the beginning of the campaign I sat down with the board and we decided that the main objective would simply be to stay in the division.
“We are well ahead of our target at moment and to be honest with you I think that we are more than capable of at least finishing in mid-table.
“The results in the FA Trophy have been a bonus as well and the game against Weymouth next week is probably the biggest match of the club’s history.”
While Fey has nothing but praise for his side’s performance levels over the past 18 months, he is wary of the club becoming a victim of their own success.
The Street boss added: “The one thing that I have to do now is to make sure that we guard against complacency.
“We haven’t lost many games recently and I need to make sure that the players never rest on their laurels.
“Thankfully we have a really hard working and committed bunch here and I have complete confidence in them.
“Every player fights for each other and most importantly the team ethic is brilliant because everyone is friends with each other off the pitch, which makes my life a lot easier!
“We are currently going through some of the best times in the club’s history and I hope there is much more success still to come.”
