CORBY gave their survival hopes a boost with victory over mid-table Stafford.
Most of the first 45 minutes was acted out in the Corby half but Stafford, who rested five players from the side beaten by Ashton in midweek, were unable to find a way through the visitors’ defence.
Omar Haughton was the first to get a look in but volleyed at Aiden Grant. Kieran Morris then headed wide before Corby mounted their first attack, Ben Milnes embarking on a lonely breakaway that ended with a tame shot. A minute later, Spencer Weir-Daley also went wide.
