DALE HOPSON’S drive from distance was the sole piece of magic in a dour encounter on the North Yorkshire coast on the final day of the season.
The midfielder’s 31st goal of the season ensured a sixthplace finish for Whitby, their best effort in ten years in the division.
It also signalled a marked improvement after four last-day relegation escapes in that time.
