STEVEN Tames’ goal before the break was the 100th Witton Albion have scored in the Northern Premier League this season.
Left unattended by Sheffield’s defence, he headed Prince Haywood’s chipped cross into the net from close range.
Club spurned chances to level, most notably when James Gregory blazed high in the first half before captain Lee Cooksey hammered a loose ball against the crossbar late on.
Brad Bauress twice went close at the other end, stabbing wide Tames cut-back then drilling too close to keeper Chris Butt.
