SCARBOROUGH Athletic extended their lead at the top to two points with a hard-fought battle against their promotion rivals from last season,
Bamber Bridge. It was evident from the opening minutes that the strong wind was going to be a major factor in the game. Kicking with the wind in the first half, Scarborough dominated and Brig were clearly happy to sit deep and keep to a tight formation, often having long spells with no player in their attacking half.
The first real chance fell to Boro’s James Walshaw in the 18th minute.
