SIX goals were shared in an entertaining game at Marston Road.
Stafford grabbed a second-minute lead when Tom Thorley collected a half cleared cross and fired past Adam McHugh.
Whitby were well in the contest and Matthew Tymon missed two chances.
Whitby keeper Adam McHugh prevented Stafford extending their lead, but the home side were stunned by two Whitby goals in a fiveminute spell.
The first came from a Dale Hobson penalty, before Lewis Maloney put them in front after he charged down a Luke Jones clearance.
