THIS was a scrappy game between the two bottom sides in the division.
There was little to excite the fans but it was a valuable win for Workington, who now have a good chance of avoiding relegation after a third successive win.
For Ferriby, it probably destroys any hope of a miraculous ending to the season.
Neither side seemed to be able to string more than three passes together but Workington deserved the win as they had more possession and territory, especially in the second half.
