■ WIDNES are now five games without a win after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Tadcaster Albion.
Jake Day’s goal after 33 minutes was enough to separate the sides, with the Taddy striker capitalising on a Joe Herbert error to apply a tidy finish.
The Whites showed plenty of endeavour, but the closest they came to an equaliser was Sam Sheen’s rasping effort that was tipped over by Michael Ingham to deny them a share of the points.
