ILKESTON TOWN owner Mark Clifford has brought in experienced manager Martin Carruthers to help run first-team affairs.
Clifford has stepped aside to move into a new role as Head of Football at the New Manor Ground, while Carruthers, the highly-successful former Basford United boss, becomes head coach.
Carruthers, 47, enjoyed a glittering playing career, spanning 25 years, at the likes of Stoke City, Peterborough, Southend and Scunthorpe.
He joins the Robins from Quorn, having won no fewer than five promotions with Basford.
