■ IT WAS a case of the late late show as Prescot Cables beat a battling Pickering thanks to Reece McNally’s header.
Perhaps predictably the home side took some time to settle into a rhythm as they adjusted to their new system and the first half produced very few chances.
The visitors had perhaps the best chance of the half but they hit the post on 28 minutes.
The second half saw Cables awarded a penalty for handball on 58 minutes, the visitors then reduced to ten men when Joel Dixon was given a second yellow card for dissent. ...
