A FIRST-HALF strike from James Walshaw was enough to continue Scarborough’s surge up towards the top five at the expense of playoff chasing Basford, who crashed to a third home defeat in a row.
The 36-year-old former Bradford PA and Guiseley front man bagged the only goal from close range on 24 minutes after Basford keeper Kieran Preston could only parry Keiran Glynn’s strike.
