■ BELPER TOWN coasted to a comfortable opening day victory.
The Nailers dominated play throughout but needed two own-goals to set them on their way.
Callum Bennett and Aaron Simms were the unfortunate players to put through their own goal in the third and 18th minutes and Derry Robson nearly made it three with a header that struck the crossbar.
Brodie Litchfield was a whisker away with a great solo effort and the inevitable third goal came after 62 minutes when Steve McDonnell finished off Craig Nelthorpe’s free-kick.
