LIVERSEDGE came out on top in a keenly contested affair at Ashby Avenue.
The West Yorkshire side were physically strong from the outset and imposed themselves on the match from the off.
They got off to a flying start in the eighth minute when a teasing cross was met at the back-post by Joe Walton.
United then had the ball in the net in the 12th minute, but it was ruled out for offside.
It was Walton again who extended the visitors’ lead in the 31st minute through another fine header from a corner.
