MORPETH Town earned a much-needed first win of the season.
After a tough opening to the campaign, which saw the Highwaymen bottom after four successive defeats, they raced into an early lead courtesy of Michael Turner’s towering header 60 seconds in.
A hammer blow for the visitors, it set them on the back foot and, in truth, they did not really recover properly from it with Ben Ramsey hitting the bar for the home side as the Highwaymen looked for a second.
