BASFORD United returned to winning ways when two late first-half goals gave them a routine win over a poor Hyde side.
Matt Thornhill put Steve Chettle’s men in front with a 38th minute penalty before Aaron O’Connor capitalised on some hesitant defending to double the Lions’ lead.
There were chances aplenty in the second period, but two were more than enough to get the job done, as Basford recovered some pride after a midweek defeat.
