■ LEEK Town closed the gap on the play-off places with a hard-fought win at Widnes.
They took the lead after 15 minutes when the impressive Dan Trickett-Smith hammered home from close range, the first goal Widnes conceded for more than 500 minutes.
Dave Dempsey’s hosts thought that they had managed an immediate reply, but River Humphreys was flagged offside as he turned home.
