CARSHALTON recovered from two recent defeats to recorded their fourth win in six games and revive their play-off hopes, while denting their opponents’ similar ambitions. Dan Bassett set the Robins on their way after 14 minutes, hooking the ball over Cheshunt keeper Preston Edwards after Paris Hamilton-Downes nodded down Luke Read’s cross.
Shortly after, an injury to Dan Pappoe, who was making his second debut for the club after signing from Wingate and Finchley, forced a defensive reorganisation.
