FC UNITED closed to within three points of the play-offs following a determined win over Witton Albion in difficult conditions on Saturday.
It was the visitors who started the better of the two sides, with Isaac Baldwin unlucky not to open the scoring on seven minutes, when his effort hit the inside of the post.
The woodwork was hit at the other end of the pitch five minutes later, when some good build-up play by the Reds was almost rewarded by Regan Linney, but his effort would be denied by the crossbar.
